Valerie, one of the sweetest young ladies I knew. Valerie and I met in high school where we became friends instantly. We used to crack jokes and laugh in class although we should have been just paying attention. I loved her, she was the wittiest and most friendliest person I knew. Valerie used to hang out with me during lunch at CHS where we talked and laughed and just acted silly. We remained friends over the years, she never changed and she never forgot me. She and I used to talk to each other often via facebook. When I found out she was battling with cancer I was heart broken but I also knew that Valerie was a fighter and she always tried to add humor to a bad situation. I loved that about her. She was a great friend and I will truly miss her. She once told me when I was pregnant that she wanted to rub my big belly for good luck and she always told me I was gorgeous to be pregnant even when I felt ugly and huge. She wanted to meet my little girl and I hate that we never got the chance for her to do so. Through pics on facebook she fell in love with my little angel and often talked about kissing her fat cheeks. I would give anything for her to be able to have done that. My heart is truly torn and filled with so many emotions right now but I know that she is no longer in pain and in heaven entertaining God and the other Angels up there. Valerie you may not be here physically but in my heart and memories you will forever rest. I love you Val and will miss you terribly.

I didn't really know Valerie that well. I moved to Florida shortly after meeting her about 10 years ago. She was such an amazing person. It wasn't until a few years ago that I found her on Facebook and she told me of her illness. I have never seen so much faith and determination in one person.Valerie truly was an inspiration to all who was blessed to have known her.
