Victor Moran Couey

Victor "Vic" Moran Couey, age 67, of Rosedale, died on Monday November 16, 2009 at the St. Dominic's Hospital in Jackson. He was born on August 26, 1942 to Fred and Ethelena (Webb) Couey in Rosedale, MS. Mr. Couey was a life-long Rosedale resident. Attended Rosedale Schools. He married Sidney Comfort Couey on October 06, 1966. Mr. Couey had been a riverboat Captain for more than 30 years. He was an avid hunter, golfer and fisherman. His family says he was a loving brother, husband, father and grandfather and friend to many. The family wishes to thank all the workers at Fresenius in Greenwood, Ms for their outstanding care-giving. Visitation will be held Wednesday 11/18/2009 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Cleveland Funeral Home in Cleveland and also Thursday 11/ 19/ 2009 10:00AM to 11:00AM at the First Church of the Nazarene in Cleveland. Funeral Services will be held Thursday 11/19/2009 11:00 AM at First Church of the Nazarene in Cleveland, MS. Burial will follow at the Beulah Cemetery Beulah, MS. Rev. Steve Holtz and Ellsworth McCracken will officiate the service. He is survived by Wife, of 43 years Sidney Comfort Couey of Rosedale, MS. Son, Marty and wife Anita Couey of Flintville, TN. Daughter, Celia Couey Dodd and husband Bill Dodd of Cleveland, MS. Son, Michael Wyatt and wife Tammy Couey of Merigold, MS. 3 Brothers, Marvin Couey of Lula, MS, Voyed Couey of Pearl, MS, and Clyde Couey of Hickory Valley, TN. 2 Sisters, Freddie Sue Couey Morgan of Hickory Valley, TN, Pamelian Couey Ursery of Rosedale, MS.
