Wanda Reed Wooten

Wanda Reed Hudson Wooten, 65, of Cleveland passed away May 18th, 2021 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle in Columbus, Ms.

Funeral services are 11:00 AM, Friday, May 21st, 2021 at Cleveland Funeral Home with  Brother Larry Weaver officiating. Burial will follow at North Cleveland Cemetery under the direction of Cleveland Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5-7 PM and Friday morning from 10:00 AM -11:00 AM at Cleveland Funeral Home.

Wanda was born January 27, 1956, in Cleveland, MS to Lillian Weaver Hudson and Denver Reed Hudson.

She married B.J. Wooten on November 11, 1977. They had 3 boys who were the light of their life until their grandchildren came along.

She was the very definition of “a mother’s love” because she learned from the best. She raised three little boys along with countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and family friends. She also took care of several adult family members she loved dearly and was always willing to help anyone that was in need. Everyone she met in life she blessed in some way, shape, or form including all of her sons' friends who called her Mama too.

Her boys were her heart and just when you thought she couldn’t love anymore the grandkids came along and she took it to a whole new level. She was over the moon excited and couldn’t wait to spoil her first great-grandson who is due to be born in November.

She worked at Rhodes Printing till it closed and then Planters Bank until her retirement.

She is preceded in death by her parents Lillian and Denver Hudson and her husband BJ Wooten.

Wanda is survived by her sons Chris Hudson (Denise), Ben Wooten (Mary Kathryn), and Matt Wooten (Michelle). 9 Grandchildren Jacob Hudson, Kameron Hudson, Ryan Smith, Gracie Wooten, Reid Wooten, Lessley Wooten, Nathan Wooten, Lily Wooten, and Emmy Wooten. 1 Great Grandson little lemon on the way. Sisters, Donna Hopper (Gary) and Sandi McClure (Walter). Along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Nick Weaver, Tyler Weaver, Will Cox, Justin McClain, HotRod Moon, and Les Moon. Honorary Pallbearers are John McClure, Michael Dill, James Staples, Derek Pennington, Terry Weaver, Johnny Weaver, Bubba Weaver, Allen Williams, Kenny Williams, Stevie Weaver, Ray Steen, Clarence Hudson, and Johnie Hudson.

Memorials may be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Cleveland Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. The online guest register may be signed at www.clevelandfuneralhome.net

What a wonderful person Wanda has been, to so many that new her. She and her family have always been part of my life. So many memories. We all grew up together, my life was circled around them. She was my sister, my friend, my family. She was always there, to listen, and give great advice as we grew older. What a wonderful mother, sister, grandmother she was. This ole homeplace will never be the same. But all our memories will live on and passed on. Thank you Wanda for all you have did for my family.
