William Lee Cummins

William Lee Cummins "Bill" age 70 of Boyle, MS passed away Monday, February 13, 2023, at the Bolivar Medical Center in Cleveland, MS.

Bill was born February 11, 1953, to Audrey Cummins and Sarah Dean Cummins in Greenwood MS. He and his family moved to Cleveland at an early age. Bill graduated from Cleveland High School, the Class of 1971, and also attended Delta State University. After college Bill opened his own plumbing and fire protection business, "B & E Plumbing & Fire Protection" of which he owned until his retirement. He married Billie Darlene Butts on January 12, 1980. After retirement Bill worked with the McCarty family in Merigold, MS doing repair and maintences on their properties. Bill was an accomplished carpenter and mechanic. He loved to duck hunt, make duck calls, and even came in second at a district duck call contest in Greenville, MS. Most of all, Bill was a devoted loving husband, father and, grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Audrey and Sarah Cummins, sons, Joshua Prestage and Wilson Cummins, brothers Larry Cummins and Jimmy Cummins and, a sister in law Dee Butts.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years Billie Darlene Cummins of Boyle, MS, Sisters in Law; Eva Cummins of Bartlett TN, and Diane Cummins of Batesville, MS, brother in law Thomas Lee Butts of Lake Charles, LA, grandson Eli Prestage of Winona, MS and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends to cherish his memory.

Visitation will be held Friday, February 17, 2023, from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Cleveland Funeral Home. The celebration of life funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM in the Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel. Reverends John Thomas and Bubba Hoggatt will officiate the service.

Honorary pallbearers are Bill Parks, Charles Gay, Hugh Krutz, Curtis Thompson, Gilbert Lopez and Nealy Robinson.

Memorials may be made to the charity of donors' choice.
