CLEVELAND- Mr. Joe Enriquez age 84 of Cleveland, MS passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2020, at the Merit Health River Oaks Hospital in Flowood, MS.


The family will receive visitors Friday, October 30, 2020, from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will Follow in the Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel, Burial will follow in the New Cleveland Cemetery. Father Kent Bowlds will officiate the services.

Due to COVID restrictions, the family asks that masks be worn and social distancing takes place.

Joe was born July 9, 1936, to Nicholas "Nick" and Maria Vargas Enriquez in Pace, MS. He was a lifelong Cleveland resident. He was a mechanic by trade starting his career with Givens Auto Service, then J&J Auto, before owning Joe's Texaco Service Station in Cleveland. Joe loved his family and was an avid crappie fisherman. He also loved playing the harmonica and would often perform with the Tuesday Night Pickers.


Joe was preceded in death by his parents Nick and Maria Vargas Enriquez, wives Marie Rozier Enriquez and Gloria Jean Tidwell Enriquez, sisters, Alice E. Smith and Mary Helen E. Ferri.
 

He is survived by his son, Michael Joe Enriquez (Martha) of Batavia, OH, daughter, Patricia Enriquez Breedlove of Millington, TN, son, James Allen Enriquez (Michelle) of Cleveland, MS, daughter, Anita Michelle Enriquez of Memphis, TN,  step-son, Jack Tidwell (Jamie), step-daughter, Melissa Guy (Robbie) nine siblings, Nick Enriquez, Jr. (Mary), of Collierville, TN, Olivia Lara (Dan), of Cleveland, MS, Pete Enriquez (Sarah) of Pearl, MS, Josephine Enriquez of Pace, MS, Victoria McKnight (Roy) of Ackerman, MS, Dora Hobdy (Greg) of Hattiesburg, MS, Martha Enriquez of Brandon, MS, Cecilia Lucio (Mike) of Grenada, MS, and Robert Enriquez (Tina) of Foley, AL. Six grandchildren, Camille Stewart, Nathan Allen Enriquez, Lindsey Marie McGarrh, Megan Kaye McGarrh, Olivia Grace Enriquez, and Sophia Marie Enriquez. Step-grandchildren, Hailey Spencer, Lawson Spencer, and Hunter Tidwell. Great-grandchildren are Ashton Hewgley, Conner Michaud, and Olivia Grace Michaud. Joe is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are nephews, Dan Lara, Jr., Pete (Buddy) Enriquez, Jr., David Lara, Darryl Lara, Richard Enriquez, Joe McKnight, Tim Ford, and Jeffrey Ford. Honorary Pallbearers are nephews Billy Joe Tharp, Patrick E. Ingram, Shane McDonald, Jacob Enriquez, Adam Enriquez, and Noah Enriquez.
