Lorna A Sims

CLEVELAND- Lorna A. Sims age 79 of Cleveland, MS passed away Wednesday, May 5, 2021at the Bolivar Medical Center Long Term Care Unit in Cleveland, MS.

Lorna was born April 10, 1942, to William and Ola Moss Sims in Waynesboro, MS.  Lorna moved to Cleveland from Jackson in 1997 to be near family.  Lorna worked with the Salvation Army, ringing the bell each Christmas season. She loved helping babysit and working with Bible School, bagging newspapers, and helping people by serving them meals at Pizza Hut. Lorna loved taking care of animals and gardening. She also enjoyed taking care of her friends and loved ones' children, collecting whatnots, keeping house, and watching TV.  Her family says she was the sweetest person with a contagious smile who never met a stranger. She had a heart of gold and loved everyone she came in contact with.

Lorna was preceded in death by her parents William and Ola Sims, brothers, Joe and Bobby Sims.

She is survived by her caregivers Raymond (Cathy) Daniels of Cleveland, MS, Sisters, Dorothy Jean Newcomb, of Laural, MS, Linda Stokes of Laurel, MS, and Frances Bremmer of Cleveland, MS. She is also survived by her extended family at the Long Term Care Unit at Bolivar Medical Center whom she loved and treated like family.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, May 7, 2021, in the North Cleveland Cemetery.
