Marvin Lindsey Baldwin

CLEVELAND - Marvin Lindsey Baldwin, age 77, of Cleveland, MS, passed away on Friday, October 04, 2019 at his home after a lengthy illness. 

Visitation will be held Sunday, October 06, 2019 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Cleveland Funeral Home in Cleveland.  Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, October 07, 2019 in the Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will be at the Delta Heights Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Reverend Phyllis Milan will officiate the services.

He was born on April 12, 1942, to Robert and Hattie (Webb) Baldwin in Charleston, MS. Marvin attended Cleveland Schools. He married Jimmie Lee Jefcoat on August 22, 1961, in Bolivar County. Marvin had worked for Rose Oil Company as an attended, Misceramic Tile, Baxter Laboratory and was a former Union National Life Insurance Company Salesman for a number of years. He was a member of the Cleveland Church of God and attended the First Assembly of God Church in Cleveland.  Marvin was also a member and Board Member of the Beulah Fishing Club.  He loved to fish, work on lawnmowers, his El Camino and watch sports and old western movies on TV. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife Jimmie. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and brother.  

He was preceded in death by father, Robert Lindsey Baldwin, mother, Hattie Estelle Baldwin, a brother, Vernon Baldwin and two sisters, Lucille Chasteen and Christine Farris.

Marvin is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jimmie Jefcoat Baldwin of Cleveland, MS.  Three sons, Mark (Kay) Baldwin of Cleveland, MS, Eric Baldwin of Cleveland, MS, and, Perry (Melissa) Baldwin of Southaven, MS.  Sister, Beatrice Wright, of Cincinnati, OH. Two grandchildren, Melody Nicole Turman (Trey), Austin Elizabeth Canady (Dustin). Four great-grandchildren, Tabitha Elizabeth Canady, Savannah Brooke Canady, Baylea Anna Canady, and Danica Lindsey Turman. He also leaves a host of nieces and nephews to cherish his memory.

Pallbearers are Larry Jefcoat, Ronnie Hudspeth, Dustin Canady, Trey Turman, Leon Weeks and Butch Smith.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and LeBonheur Hospital.
